While aware of falling into banality, I would say: typical British comedy. It can: play, polite, witty, perky, with many literary quotations, not vulgar, slightly boring. Maybe I forgot some ingredients but more or less this is the menu. Adapted from a graphic novel of success, the film leaves look but do not involve: the characters are funny but interesting. Stephen Frears has done better.
